Silent Brick Single Drive
The Single Drive is particularly suitable for smaller installations for tamper-proof archiving. Equipped with a Silent Brick WORM, it offers net capacity of up to 2, 4, or 6 TB.* What’s particularly smart is that if you need more than the original 2 or 4 TB, the capacity can be expanded to up to 6 TB through a software update. Of course, the Silent Brick WORM is offline-capable, so it can be ejected from the Single Drive at any time and stored securely. Archiving can then be continued on a second Silent Brick WORM. Replication to a second location provides additional protection against failure due to disasters (fire, water, etc.) or theft.
Instead of a Silent Brick WORM, you can also use a Silent Brick equipped with hard drives or SSDs and use the Single Drive as an inexpensive file server with up to 24 TB of gross capacity.
Silent Brick and Silent Brick WORM
The Silent Brick storage container is the heart of all Silent Brick systems.
With 12 data carriers, the Flash version offers 3, 6, 12, or 24 TB of raw capacity, and the version with hard drives offers 12 or 24 TB. The Silent Brick is designed as a protected, transportable, offline-capable data container. Depending on the configuration, the data is protected with dual or triple parity or with linear storage via erasure coding with 4 redundancies. The Silent Brick is also available as a version with hardware WORM sealing. Together with hundreds of tested applications, it allows tamper-proof archiving in the Silent Brick system. Silent Bricks contain 12 data carriers, are offline-capable, and easy to maintain without special tools.
With the Silent Brick WORM, the Silent Cube’s hardware WORM sealing, which has been tried and tested thousands of times, is also available in the Silent Brick Drive and Silent Brick system for tamper-proof archiving. These approved solutions therefore enable legally compliant data storage (in D, A, CH, etc. in accordance with GDPdU, GoBS, and RöV archiving guidelines). The Silent Brick WORM is available with net capacities (erasure coding with quadruple redundancy) of 2, 4, 8, and 16 TB with both SSDs and hard drives.

Silent Cubes are used wherever large amounts of sensitive data need to be stored securely and cost-effectively in the long term. As a result, Silent Cubes are the ideal addition to your software.With conventional hard disk storage, user errors cannot be completely ruled out. The FAST LTA WORM controller, on the other hand, protects data from deletion and overwriting at the lowest hardware level. To protect against batch errors, 4 hard drives from 3 production batches are used per Cube. With 4 redundancies, the redundancy coding of a Silent Cube is more secure than a mirrored RAID6 configuration – with a better gross/net ratio. The data is regularly and automatically checked bit by bit within the storage unit via a digital audit. This allows malfunctions to be detected and rectified at an early stage. Silent Cubes storage systems are scalable up to over 4000 terabytes. You can add storage units at any time to match your growing needs. Silent Cubes offer a compact, award-winning design and are intended for mounting in a 19-inch rack. To protect against the loss of an entire system, e.g., due to fire or water damage, the Silent Cubes’ installation can be replicated to a second location. The software required for this is available in the system at no extra charge

The Silent Cube DS in a 19-inch format is the new generation of WORM storage for tamper-proof and GDPR-compliant archiving. Based on the powerful DS platform and with net capacities of 4 to 64 TB per unit, it is suitable for decades of secure archiving – and for modernizing existing Silent Cubes systems.

StorEasy® WormAppliance
StorEasy® WormAppliances are archive stores that can be integrated easily into all application situations and environments. The archive data is kept in the hard disk cache (1 TB mirrored gross volume) for online access and copied to durable Blu-ray media in the background. The basic system is designed as a complete system that includes all control functions for data provision, data flow, data preparation, media production, and administration.
The WormAppliance is available as a desktop version as an entry-level solution for smaller data sets up to 10 TB, and as a 19” enterprise version with up to 30 TB and multiple extensions from 10 TB to 110 TB – the systems grow with your needs.
Sony ODS drives
Sony has developed various external and internal drives for writing and reading cartridges, which can be used either as a desktop version or as a drive for integration into libraries. The three external desktop drives ODS-D280, ODS-D55U, and ODS-D77U differ in terms of generational compatibility and the corresponding data transfer rates.
